February is by far, my least favorite month of the year. For 24/25s of my life, it was because I was without a significant other on Valentine's Day/Singles Awareness Day. However, over the last couple of years I've noticed a terrible trend of the entire month of February just being a complete and utter disaster. It's not just me either, last February was one of the worst months ever for seemingly everyone I know. To put a visual to my feelings on February, I shall portray the cursedness of it in pictures:

Last night, I warned Cory that February is the worst month of the year. He asked why. I told him bad things always happen in February. I'm pretty sure he didn't believe me. Today, he gets a call from our land lords who are totally trying to screw us over. We're applying to get an apartment at Wexford on the Green. Why? Our house sucks. Bad. Imagine the worst kitchen you've ever had...it's probably about like that. Plus the ENTIRE house with the exception of the bathroom and one wall of tile in the kitchen is covered in wood paneling. Anyway, Wexford, as a natural precaution, sends a form out to the former land lords of those applying there simply asking basic questions like, "Does the tenant pay the rent on time?" or "Has the tenant caused any damage to the property?" Keep in mind we've already paid $90 to Wexford for an application fee and a holding deposit. Zimmerman Realty calls Cory this afternoon to inform him that we have to pay $50 for them to fill out this form. This is after they A) Did not return the previous tenant's security deposit, B) made Cory sign a new lease even though he was taking over someone else's lease, C) charged him $1000 non-refundable pet deposit for two cats, two CATS! And D) did not tell him for over two years that he was paying $5 less than what his rent was every month, and have given him a different number every time they say he owes money which was also part of that phone conversation.

All this comes after a night when I tossed and turned, stayed home instead of going to the pool because I was exhausted only to continue to toss and turn. My eyes are burning from being so freakin tired, and yet, I'm almost positive I won't sleep well tonight either.
So for those of you that pray, if you can pray that this works out for us. If you don't pray, well...can you buy us a house or something? I'm kidding, but seriously, I'm way stressed out over this among other things and I really need some rest. So if you could at least ask for that on my behalf, I'd appreciate it.
For once, Grib is not the source of my anxiety, but she has contributed. Don't worry. There's never a Grib-free day in this office.
On the plus side, Chuck is on tonight.
Watch it. I triple-dog dare you.

Awww, Tessa, hang in there! I hope you get some sleep tonight. The only awesome day in February is the 28th - aren't you glad that February is a short month?
You should contact the county.. are you in Greene or Montgomery? I know in Montgomery county, landlords have to register with some office (can't remember) and with the state of Ohio, tenants have certain rights. I know this from a slumlord I had a couple of years ago in a house I rented. When I get back, we can discuss.
